Sundargarh: Sundargarh Police led by Sub-divisional Police Officer Himanshu Bhusan Behera reached Raigarh to investigate the Garjanbahal firing incident which left 10 persons injured on Thursday night.
According to reports, over 200 rounds were blank fired over the business rivalry between two business partners of Chhattisgarh at an under-construction coal washery in Garjanbahal under Hemgiri police limits in Sundargarh district on Thursday. Among the 10 injured, two belonged to Sundargarh.
The police team will interrogate the two injured youths of Sundargarh as they are undergoing treatment at a Raigarh-based hospital. Besides, police have plans to grill two businessmen who are responsible for the firing incident, sources said.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Talking to the media, SDPO said, “Last night a clash erupted between two parties at a coal washery in Garjanbahal. We came to know that two youths of Sundargarh have been shifted to a Raigarh-based hospital for treatment. A police team from Odisha has reached Chhattisgarh to interrogate the injured persons of Sundargarh. An investigation is underway to get into the depth of the incident and we will take necessary action soon.”
