Bhubaneswar: A State-level conference was held by “UDAAN -(Beyond Dreams)” for the celebration of “International Women’s day – 2022” at KIIT University campus on Tuesday. The Theme for IWD-2022 is “Gender Equality for Sustainable Tomorrow”.
Around 300 delegates attended the conference from across Odisha and participated in the daylong deliberation. Eminent Speakers and Guest Lecturers delivered talks on the subject, followed by panel discussion and open house debate on various issues related to
challenges faced by women and ways & means for their solutions for the sustainable tomorrow. The programme was followed by Theme based classical dance performance by Nrutya Jyoti Dance Group, Cuttack.
Dr Anu Bansal, former Deputy Medical Superintendent of AlIMS, Bhopal was Chief Guest on the occasion while Prof Asha Hans, ex-Prof of Political Science, Utkal University was the Chief Speaker. Transport Commissioner Arun Kumar Bothra, ADG Crime against Women and Children Wing, Rekha Lohani, Director of Women & Child Development Department, Arvind Agarwal, Monika O. Nielsen, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF, Odisha were also present.
UDAAN Trust is a non-profit making Charitable Trust working for the cause of women & children and for sustainable development through environmental interventions at the grassroots level with community participation.
The Trust Members, namely Sri Sudhir Das, Advocate Lalit Mishra, Sri Prakash Nangalia & Dr. Niranjan Sahoo were present along with volunteers Smt. Rita Mishra, Deepa Nangalia & Madhusmita Mishra. Geeta Panigrahi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Udaan conducted the programme.
