Bhubaneswar: Though Odisha ranks third in the country in terms of the number of people vaccinated for COVID-19 so far, a few registered frontline workers (FLWs) and healthcare workers (HCWs) have not taken the first dose yet.
In the light of this situation, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department Pradipta Mohapatra today warned of depriving these HCWs and FLWs of Government facilities, in case they are inflicted with Coronavirus infection.
All HCWs and FLWs who have been registered for vaccination but are now wilfully refusing the same without any genuine grounds (of a contra-indication condition), will henceforth cease to enjoy the privileges granted by the Government in case of COVID infection. These include – free treatment, a period of isolation/treatment being counted as duty, financial and other benefits in case of death, Mohapatra stated.
ACS Health has written a letter to Collectors and Municipal Commissioners in this matter. “Take steps to ensure that all HCWs and FLWs take the opportunity to take COVID vaccine within the timeline given by Union Health Ministry,” the letter read.
