Bhubaneswar: A six-year-old girl succumbed to food poisoning while the condition of her younger sister is said to be critical at the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital.
The deceased girl was identified as Sumitra, daughter of Muna Munda, and her younger sister Megha is undergoing treatment.
According to reports the two sisters and their family members consumed roasted frog meat at Guruda under Bamebari police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on February 9. The two girls fell ill after this.
Sumitra died on February 10 morning, while Megha is still hospitalised.
On being informed, police reached the spot, sent Sumitra’s body for post-mortem and started an investigation.
The reason for the death can be ascertained after post-mortem, police said.
