Ganjam: Police recovered the body of a girl student from her hostel room in Odisha’s Ganjam on Friday. While the hostel authorities claim that the girl committed suicide, the family members of the deceased cried foul play.
The deceased has been identified as Rituparna Das (19), a student of Roland Pharmacy College Hostel at Khadasingh in Odisha’s Ganjam district. She hailed from Krishna Prasad in Puri district and was a second year DPharma student at Roland College of Pharmacy.
According to reports, the hostel warden called the family and told them that Rituparna was ill. The family members reached the hostel in the morning and found the girl’s body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.
The Rituparna’s family members claimed that they spoke her on Thursday night and she was fine at that time. Alleging that the girl may have been murdered, they have demanded a probe into her death.
