Gold Merchant Looted At Gunpoint In Delang

Bhubaneswar: Five miscreants looted gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 23 lakh at gunpoint from a jeweller at Delang on Wednesday night.

The jeweller identified as Prashant Mohapatra is a resident of Delang. He runs a jewellery shop at Delang market.

According to a complaint filed by Prashant miscreants targeted him near Delang police station in Puri district and decamped with gold weighing 270 grams and silver weighing 6 kilograms. Like every day, he was returning home after closing his shop when five miscreants mobbed him and threatened him at gunpoint before decamping with jewellery.

Based on the complaint filed by Prashant, Delang police started an investigation into it and launched a manhunt to arrest the miscreants.
