Bhubaneswar: The golden era of railway development in Odisha has started from Sunday, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while returning to Bhubaneswar from Berhampur by the Berhampur-Tatanagar Vande Bharat train that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually today.
On behalf of the people of Odisha, Majhi expressed his gratitude to Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for the development of railway infrastructure in Odisha. He said that except one or two districts of Odisha, all the other districts have been connected by rail. Soon all the district headquarters of the state will be connected by rail and in the coming days, railways will connect all the subdivisions in Odisha.
The Chief Minister said that during his visit to Delhi, he discussed the railway development in Odisha with the Railway Minister. The Railway Minister had then assured that the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue all cooperation for the development of railways in Odisha.
Majhi said that since 2014, the Central government has been providing all support for the development of railways in Odisha. In the process of land acquisition for railway infrastructure in Odisha, there was no special cooperation during the previous government. Now that there is a double engine government in Odisha, all the obstacles to railway development will be removed and the railway development process will be accelerated.
Majhi told the media that the development of railways in Odisha will improve the state’s tourism, trade and other sectors and our economy will improve.
The Chief Minister was impressed by the beautiful scenery of Chilika Lake while coming by rail. Majhi also interacted with school students who travelled with him on the train today.
Along with the Chief Minister, the Minister of Commerce and Transport, Steel and Mines Bibhuthi Bhushan Jena and the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Development, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Gokulananda Mallick returned to Bhubaneswar by this train. At Balugao station, Minister for Law, Labour and Employment, Prithviraj Harichandan and MP Sambit Patra, joined the Chief Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida accompanied the Chief Minister from Khurda Road station.
