Good Conduct, Duty With Determination Enhance Police Image: CM Majhi At Passing Out Parade In BPSPA

Bhubaneswar: Service in uniform requires a lot of sacrifice in one’s personal life.  Good conduct along with duty in this area helps in enhancing the image of the police. You must always be prepared to reflect the duty as a symbol of dedicated public service.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi advised the police officers while participating in the passing out parade of armed police sub-inspectors at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy today.

As many as 113 armed police sub-inspectors have completed their training and will join duty soon.

Speaking on the occasion, Majhi called upon all the officers to render selfless service to the country, society and common people with honesty.

Majhi paid tributes to the martyred police personnel who sacrificed their life in the line of duty.

He congratulated 113 armed sub-inspectors who are passing out today after completing their basic training.

These officers must have acquired sufficient professional knowledge, skills and abilities through the basic training. The CM hoped it would be very helpful in their daily service work.

Considering the employees working under him as his family members, the CM vowed to take care of their welfare.

“From today, you should prepare yourself for tougher challenges. The Special Operation Group of Odisha is the best and most advanced security force in the country to fight against the Maoists. The skills of these officers will make the Odisha Police more proud in the anti-Maoist operation,” the CM said.

Highlighting the success of Odisha in the fight against left-wing extremism, he said that under the direction of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah, and with the unwavering support of the Government of India, Odisha Police has been performing well in combating left-wing extremism. The influence of the Maoists has decreased. But there are still challenges.  He said that the police forces will lead the fight against Maoists with the strength of their abilities and make our state naxal-free.

Expressing that our government is committed to modernizing the police and reforming the police department, he said that my government is aware of shortage of man power in the department. Odisha government will be careful to take welfare measures for the police. Along with this, the government will take necessary steps to overcome the shortage of manpower, the CM said.

Highlighting the new criminal law, he said that Modi government has brought a revolutionary change in the field of criminal law by introducing the new laws by changing the criminal law of the British era.

“Police training teaches you ethics, integrity, commitment, compassion and sensitivity towards human society. It is imperative to develop you as a tough and professional police officer,” Majhi advised.

He expressed happiness as the academy has won a national award by winning the Union Home Minister’s trophy as the best police training institute in the country in 2021-22.

Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi attended the program and praised the trainee officers. Sarangi commended them for their determination and discipline during Puri Rath Yatra, Bhadrak Hanuman Jayanti, election duty and many other major events.
