Bargarh: Even before the nightmare of the three-train accident near Bahanagar Bazar railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district could be erased from people’s memory, a goods train derailed in Bargarh district of Odisha on Monday.
According to reports, five wagons of the goods train derailed near Mendhapali in Bargarh district.
The goods train was reportedly transporting limestone from the mines at Dungri to ACC’s cement plant in Bargarh. While no casualty has been reported, police and Railways personnel reached the spot and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has released a statement that reads, “There is a private narrow gauge rail line between Dungri limestone mines and a cement plant of ACC in Bargarh. A derailment happened in the early morning today on that railway line. The line, wagons, loco all are private and they are in no way connected with the Indian Railway system.”
