Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana To Come Up After Sep 10; BSKY To Continue Now: Minister

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), one of the most popular health schemes of the previous government, will continue till September 10. People will avail the health benefits through the new scheme Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana after September 10, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Saturday.

The Gopabandhu Jan Arogya scheme will have the same type of facilities for the beneficiaries, he added.

“Vote-on-account was passed on July 30 for two months. The Appropriation Bill will be passed in the Assembly on September 10. Then the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana will be implemented in a phased manner,” Minister Mahaling said.

Beneficiaries will be provided with the Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana card. The process will begin after September 10, he informed.

The BSKY provides cashless treatment of Rs10 lakh per annum for female members of the family while other beneficiaries get Rs 5 lakh per annum. . Beneficiaries above 1 lakh per month are availing cash treatment at private hospitals across the State. The scheme costs the State exchequer Rs 200 crore annually.
