Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch team investigating the Gopalpur gangrape case is set to conduct a crime scene reconstruction. Ten individuals, including four juveniles, have been arrested in connection with the case. The accused allegedly gang-raped a 20-year-old college student on Gopalpur beach on June 15.
As per reports, the Crime Branch will conduct a crime scene reconstruction to recreate the events surrounding the crime. The reconstruction will help investigators piece together the sequence of events and identify potential witnesses.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has collected DNA samples from all the accused and sent them to the Forensic Laboratory in Bhubaneswar for analysis. The team is currently gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, including locals who witnessed the victim’s cries for help.
The investigation is also looking into the accused’s movements before and after the crime, including their consumption of alcohol and interactions with others. CCTV footage from local liquor stores and the beach area is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
