Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasised the importance of national unity while celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the formation day of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, at Raj Bhavan.
He honoured the courageous legacy of Birsa Munda, Jharkhand’s great tribal leader and freedom fighter, who fought against British oppression and advocated for tribal rights.
Dr Kambhampati praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, acknowledging the tribal community’s contributions to nation-building. He extended greetings to the people of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, highlighting their rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
The Governor further said that Odisha stands as a shining example of unity. From the timeless message of peace that emerged after the Kalinga War, to the spiritual heritage of Lord Jagannath of Puri, the architectural grandeur of Konark and the vibrant folk and tribal culture of the state, the state reflects the harmony between tradition and progress, humanity and nature.
The celebration of the foundation day of other states at Raj Bhavan encourages cultural exchange, reflects the unity of the country through appreciation of each other’s diversity, the Governor said, adding that this is India’s greatest strength, in which unity lies in diversity.
The Governor emphasised Odisha’s shining example of unity, citing its spiritual heritage, architectural grandeur, and vibrant folk culture. He urged strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, celebrating India’s diversity as its greatest strength.
