Balangir: A man was hacked to death at Bishnumunda village under Town police station in Balangir district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Nayak, a grocery shop owner from Bishnumunda village.
According to sources, an unidentified assailant attacked Nayak with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.
Locals rushed Nayak to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
On being informed, Town Police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained and efforts are on to nab the accused.
