**Ganjam:** A laborer was shot dead by unidentified miscreants over past enmity in Mathasarasinga under Kodala police limits here last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Parida (37) of J. Chachina village. Parida, who is employed in Gujarat, had returned home for a visit 15 days back.
Reportedly, the incident occurred last evening around 7 pm at Mathasarsing area. Parida was attacked by some miscreants, who first bludgeoned his head and then shot at him. The brutal blow caused Parida’s death on the spot.
On intimation, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Meanwhile, family members of the deceased have a lodged a complaint regarding the incident and further investigation into the case is currently underway.
