Gun Used In Sk Hyder’s Encounter Sent For Forensic Examination

Soro: Twelve days after notorious gangster Sk Hyder’s death in a police encounter, the gun, cartridges,  clothes, blood-soaked soil and other seized articles were sent to the State Forensic Laboratory at Bhubaneswar for chemical examination.

“The arms, ammunition, blood-soaked soil, clothes that were seized have been for chemical examination,” informed Balaram Nayak, DSP Balasore.

Hyder succumbed to the bullet injuries on the evening of July 24 at the district headquarters hospital in Balasore.

He was fired at by the police when tried to flee on the pretext of attending to nature’s call near Simulia while being shifted from Choudwar circle jail to Baripada circle jail by an escort team of the Commissionerate police on July 24.

A team of forensic experts from the Commissionerate of Police on July 25 visited the encounter spot near Simulia.

Additional DCP Pramod Kumar Rath had accompanied the forensic team.
