Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Thursday launched a book ‘Exotic Eden – The Lovers’ Destination of Odisha’ jointly written by researcher and journalist Jitendra Patnaik and educator Shubendu Mohanty. Launching the book, Prof Lal said that the book will be very useful for tourists, especially those who visit Odisha from abroad.
The 140-page colourful tourism-based book in English covers various tourist destinations including Furlijharan, Rajahans, Deomali, Daringbadi, Sarafgarh-Badunjharia, Talsari, Pradhanpat, Debrigarh, Chandrabhaga, Indirakanika, Hirakud and the Golden Beach. It offers tips and guidelines on how to reach these places, where to stay and what to eat. The book also has information on the safety measures taken by the Odisha government for tourists and important telephone numbers and helplines issued by the state Tourism department are also given.
Any tourist visiting Odisha can get complete information on their tour programme through this book. The book is available on online sites like Flipkart and Amazon. In addition, there are plans to provide it for passengers on international flights.
Earlier, the Governor had released a research book titled ‘Dangaran Kuan’ written by Jitendra Patnaik on the primitive tribe Dungaria Kandha at the Raj Bhavan, while Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a book on the Gond tribe titled ‘Dungar Uhadeh Jahan’. The English version of ‘Dangran Kuan’ will be launched soon.
