Bhubaneswar: The official website of Ravenshaw University has been compromised by hackers. Instead of displaying the university’s information, the website now redirects users to a betting site called ‘Bento-4D’ when accessed on mobile devices.
The hacking incident has caused significant disruption to the university’s activities, with students facing difficulties in downloading certificates from the website. The university’s administration is yet to issue an official statement regarding the hacking incident, according to sources.
This is not the first instance of a cyber-attack on an educational institution in Odisha. Most recently, the Instagram account of the Higher Education Department was also hacked, with obscene videos uploaded to the page. However, the account was restored to normal within a short period.
The authorities are investigating the hacking incident and are working to restore the website to its normal functioning.
As the investigation continues, students and faculty members are advised to be cautious when accessing the university’s website and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
