Sonepur: The half-charred body of a woman was recovered from the manhole on Dulapadar Road under Tarabaha police limits in Odisha’s Sonepur district on Sunday. Police also recovered a slipper near the body.
Some local youths informed the police today that a foul-smelling object was lying under the bridge. Acting on the information, police reached the spot and recovered the half-burnt, semi-naked body and the slipper.
While the identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained, police have sent the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter.
