Sundergarh: In a gruesome discovery, the half-burnt and naked body of a married woman was recovered from the bank of a canal in Raikelaposa village under Lahunipada police station in Sundergarh district.

The deceased identified as Phulmani Munda, wife of Turi Munda, had gone missing from her house at 3 pm yesterday. Family members launched a frantic search for her.

Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain until Thursday afternoon, when they stumbled upon Phulmani’s charred remains. The family immediately informed the Lahunipada police, who sprang into action.

A team led by the Lahunipada police station officer, accompanied by a magistrate and a scientific team, arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.

The police have seized the body and sent it for autopsy to determine the cause of death. Meanwhile, Phulmani’s family has filed a murder complaint, suspecting foul play. The incident has sent shockwaves in the locality.
