Half-Charred Body Of Married Woman Found In Balasore, Foul Play Suspected

Balasore: Half-charred body of a married woman was found on the rooftop of her house at Jayanagar village under Bhograi police limits in Balasore district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Mili Parida. Police have detained Mili’s mother-in-law Bharati Parida and father-in-law Hemant Parida for questioning.

According to reports, while Mili’s husband Bhagirath Parida works outside the state, she used to reside with her in-laws. Bhagirath and Mili were married for around seven years. The couple has a six-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.

While Mili’s mother-in-law Bharati has termed it a case of suicide, the former’s parents have termed it a case of murder for dowry.

Police have seized the body and have launched an investigation into the matter. Jaleswar SDPO Dilip Sahu who also reached the spot said that the scientific team has been requisitioned and the police have detained the in-laws of the deceased for questioning.
