Cuttack: The district administration here today announced half-day closure of all the government and private educational institutions in the city on January 11 (Wednesday) for the opening ceremony of the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023.
A grand celebration event will be held at Barabati Stadium at the inaugural ceremony of the FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023, to be held at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
The marquee Hockey event will be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to January 29. Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani announced the closure of all educational institutions after 2 pm tomorrow.
The 15th edition of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup is all set to kick off in Odisha on Friday (January 13) as 16 teams are set to battle out for the top honour.
The show will feature live performances by India’s leading stars Ranveer Singh and Disha Patani along with BLACKSWAN, the famous K-Pop band featuring Odisha’s Shreya Lenka.
Guru Aruna Mohanty and Shiamak Davar have choreographed the dance performances. The event will also feature many local Odia stars and performers.
