Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, a Class-II student was left locked inside her school overnight after the teachers failed to properly check the premises before locking up the school.
According to reports, authorities of Anjar Government Upper Primary School had locked the school premises at 4 pm yesterday, unaware that the Class II student Jyotsna Dehuri was still inside. Her family had searched for her extensively but to no avail.
In an attempt to escape, the student Jyotsna tried to break through a window, but unfortunately, she got injured in the process. Her legs were stuck in the window frame, bleeding profusely.
She spent the entire night dangling from the window, suffering immense pain and distress.
After seeing the girl in such a condition, the family members and villagers fetched the key from the school cook and opened the classroom door. They then bent the iron bars of the window and rescued the girl. The girl’s father and the headmaster took her to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment and later brought her back to school.
The School and Mass Education Department informed that the girl is currently in good health.
