Harvested Paddy in Fire

Bhubaneswar: A heap of harvested paddy worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in an accidental fire at Kheti village under the Kishore Nagar block in Angul district.

The paddy stack belongs to Jambeswar Pradhan, who had stacked the harvested crop in the field.

According to reports, the fire broke out last night and locals noticed it only after the flames spread.

They immediately informed the Fire Services department. The fire tenders unit arrived promptly and managed to extinguish the blaze. By the time, the paddy was completely destroyed.

Though the exact cause of fire is not known, short circuit is suspected to be reason of the accident.

Meanwhile, owner Jambeswar Pradhan urged the government for compensation.
