Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has suggested his Ministers to have lunch with children at orphanages and schools while they are on official tours in the State.
In a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday, it was stated that Naveen has advised his Ministers to have midday meals with inmates of orphanages and school students.
Instead of having lunch outside, during official tours the Ministers should have their lunch at shelter homes for specially-abled children, orphanages, schools and Aahar centres, the Chief Minister said.
By doing this, the Ministers can get a first-hand feedback and themself experience the quality of food at these facilities. To improve the facilities at these centre, this step will be very beneficial, Naveen added.
The Ministers have been advised not to publicise these trips, rather try to make them surprise visits, to the maximum extent possible.
The Ministers, while submitting reports on their monthly tours, will need to add the details of these (aforementioned) visits, the CM said.
The Chief Minister has also advised all senior officers of the State Government to follow the advisory during their district visits.
