Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today directed Ollywood actor Varsha Priyadarshini to appear before Delhi Police within 15 days in connection with a case filed against her for allegedly making casteist remarks.
The North Avenue police station of Delhi had summoned Varsha twice on the basis of a complaint filed there for allegedly using casteist slur against and misbehaving with Sujit Dalei, a staff of Varsha’s estranged actor-turned-politician husband Anubhav Mohanty.
Instead of appearing before Delhi’s North Avenue police, Varsha had moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail over apprehension of her arrest. Admitting Varsha’s petition the High Court granted her interim protection for 15 days.
