Bhubaneswar: As a part of its social responsibility drive, HDFC Bank has taken up the noble cause of conducting blood donation drives across the state. The Drive has collected 35,000 units of blood from over 352 camps held across the state.
HDFC Bank has been conducting blood donation campaign since 2007 and has been witnessing more and more enthusiasm, awareness, and increased support from all stakeholders for this initiative.
These blood donation camps are a part of pan India initiative of the Bank. As part of this , HDFC Bank has tied up local blood banks, colleges, and universities for this noble cause.
Over the years, HDFC bank has made a difference to the society by not only saving lives but also creating awareness about blood donation.
For this special activity, the Bank has been appreciated by the State Government for continuous 3 years from 2016-2018. Also, the Bank has created a milestone and found a place in the Guiness Book of World Record for conducting the largest blood donation (multiple venue) campaign in a single day by any organisation in 2013.
The 15th annual blood donation drive was conducted today at Nayapalli and Sachivalaya Marg branches.
The event was graced by Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, Finance and Department of Energy.
RBI Regional Director S P Mohanty also visited and motivated the donors.
Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarsi, Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur inaugurated the drive at Sachivalaya Marg Branch.
Speaking on the occasion, Dev shared his thoughts on encouraging young donors to come forward to be a part of this social cause and to create awareness among others in the society as well.
RBI RD appreciated all bankers and motivated to continue with more such activities.
Priyadarshi guided Bank officials to do more camps throughout the year for proper storage and utilisation of the blood.
Thakur appreciated Bank efforts and cited blood saves many lives during road accidents and more such camps must be arranged and awareness to be spread out.
Cluster Head of HDFC Bank, Animesh Biswal and State Head Operations, Rishi Ganguly were present with Bank officials and donors to facilitate the drive.
