Balangir: Two youths were killed as the bike they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a car on National Highway 26 near Mahagaon, under Saintala police station limits in Balangir district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Rajin Rautrai and Manas Banchhor, residents of Bhuslad village under Titlagarh police limits. The accident occurred around 1 am when they were returning home from work.
As per reports, the car involved in the accident, bearing a Bargarh district registration number, was seized by the Sainatala police.
The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused.
Sainatala police registered a case and are investigating the incident.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
