Balasore: A headmaster allegedly crushed the fingers of a Class IV student on the occasion of Teachers’ Day Kalandi Patana in Soro block of Balasore district. The student’s mother has lodged a complaint in this regard with the Block Education Officer (BEO), Childline, and Police.
Reportedly, the headmaster Anirudh Behera had crushed the fingers of the student Madhavendra on the occasion of Teachers’ Day over some previous grudge, said the student’s mother Mamata Sahu.
Madhavendra’s fingers were swollen and he reported the matter at his home. On getting information, Childline members went to meet the child and took him for treatment at Soro hospital. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the BEO and Soro Police.
After receiving the complaint, Soro Police initiated a probe into the matter. Mamata alleged that the Headmaster has a grudge against her as she had previously accused him of irregularities in the mid-day meal.
