Angul: The headmaster of a school in Kishorenagar Turuda village in Odisha’s Angul district committed suicide in his school building on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Hrishikesh Sahu, the headmaster of Turuda Higher Primary School.
According to reports, Sahu came to the school at the usual time today morning. Just before the classes could begin, some students of the school found him hanging from the ceiling of a classroom.
An Anganwadi worker along with local people rescued the headmaster immediately and rushed him to the Kishorenagar hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
On being informed, police arrived at the school and started an investigation. However, the police are yet to ascertain why the headmaster took such an extreme step.
