Balasore: Police have detained two teachers, including the math teacher and the headmaster of PN High School in Chamar Gaon under Raibania police station in Balasore district, for allegedly misbehaving with a ninth-class girl student.
The math teacher, identified as Kailash Chandra Beja, is accused of making obscene gestures and harassing the minor student for the past three months, while the headmaster, Bhavani Shankar Pal, allegedly failed to act on her complaint.
According to reports, Beja repeatedly targeted the student with inappropriate behavior and threatened to fail her in exams if she did not comply. The student, fearing repercussions, initially remained silent but confided in the headmaster eight days ago, hoping for intervention.
However, Pal reportedly took no action, leaving the student distressed and unwilling to return to school. Suffering from severe mental distress, the student disclosed the ordeal to her mother, who filed a written complaint with the Raibania police station on July 20.
Based on the complaint, the Raibania police detained both Beja and Pal for questioning.
