Cuttack: A three-member team from the State Health Department, accompanied by the Cuttack Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), raided a private diagnostic centre on Kathagola Road in Mangalabag on Tuesday after preliminary checks revealed irregularities. The facility has been named BSR Diagnostic Center.
Health officials said the raid was part of a routine inspection to ensure medical facilities operate with valid licenses.
During the inspection, it was found that the diagnostic centre did not possess formal documents or a valid license. “We are verifying all the documents and strict action will be taken based on the findings,” an official said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the centre was originally owned by a person who went bankrupt and was later sold to the current owner. The second owner, managing the facility since 2019, reportedly does not hold a valid license.
Officials also noted serious safety violations, including the absence of a proper fire safety system.
The Health Department has stated that further action will be taken against the management once the verification process is complete.
