Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department has set a target to vaccinate 19,770 healthcare workers across the State on January 28. According to the H&FW Department, the vaccination will be carried out in 216 sessions in 30 districts.
The maximum number of sessions have been scheduled in Koraput – 27, Mayurbhanj – 20, Ganjam – 17, Cuttack -16, and Kalahandi – 13. The number of HCWs to be vaccinated in the aforementioned districts (same order) are: 2,359; 1,150; 1,730; 1,822, and 693.
Today, in Bhubaneswar the COVID vaccination was held at 11 sites. Total, 1,137 HCWs were vaccinated in these sessions in the Capital City. Out of a total, 3,38,700 health care workers, 1,78,227 have received COVID-19 vaccines in Odisha. The rest, 1,60,473 HCWs will be vaccinated by February 10, the H&FW Department informed.
The Department cautioned, “All the HCWs who are remaining absent from vaccination after receiving the message, will not be given further chance for free vaccination by the Government.”
