Heartbroken After Daughter’s Death Nabarangpur Woman Donates Money Saved For Her To Red Cross

Nabarangpur: Having lost her only daughter to a blood-related disease, a woman on Tuesday donated all she had saved for her to the Red Cross Society in Nabarangpur.

Rashmita Sethi, a teacher at Chandanpala School in Papadahandi block of Nabarangpur district lost her only daughter Dibyamayee Patika to a blood-related disease on March 31 this year. Dibyamayee was a meritorious student and was studying in Class VII.

Since her death, Rashmita has been left completely heartbroken.

Today during Collector and SP Joint Grievance Hearing Camp Rashmita donated a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the Red Cross Society. This amount included scholarship money won by her deceased daughter, the amount saved by her in her daughter’s name under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and LIC.

“I loved my daughter very much. Since she is no more what will I do with the money I saved for her? So I have donated it to the Red Cross Society in the presence of Collector Kamal Lochan Mishra and Superintendent of Police S Sushri. It can be of use for any needy child. My daughter will be happy wherever she is,” said Rashmita in a choked voice.
