Bhubaneswar: With the withdrawal of southwest monsoon and warm wind flowing from the west, several regions of Odisha are experiencing hot and humid weather making life uncomfortable for the people here. The day temperature (maximum temperature) in many areas of the state has been hovering around 35°C to 36°C.
In most places, the heat is unbearable during the daytime, while the humidity is making life difficult in the evenings. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this kind of dry weather will prevail in the state for the next five days, with spells of light to moderate rain in a few places.
According to the weather office here, this kind of weather condition is normal during the transition period between the withdrawal of monsoon and the advent of winter. Taking a look at the statistics, the temperature in the second week of October is highest this year in some parts of the state where the day temperature has already crossed 35°C. Normally, the average temperature during this time of the year is between 32°C and 33°C in Odisha.
Normally, the southwest monsoon starts withdrawing from Odisha in the second week of October. Till mid-October the state experiences cloudy weather and light to moderate rainfall in some places and the maximum temperature (day temperature) touches 33° as the sky is cloudless.
Currently, the humidity level in Bhubaneswar is 60 per cent and the day temperature is expected to be around 38°C.
