Heat To Grip Odisha From Tomorrow, Yellow Alert Issued For Dense Fog

Bhubaneswar: The winter has come to an end in Odisha, and the state is bracing itself for a heatwave that is expected to prevail from tomorrow. The India Meteorological Department has predicted a significant rise in temperature, with no respite from the heat for at least a week.

According to the weather agency, the temperature in Odisha has already increased by 2 to 4 degrees above normal, and this trend is expected to continue for the next 4 to 5 days. Day and night temperatures will remain high, making it feel hot across all districts.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in 24 districts across Odisha for the next 24 hours. The districts affected by the dense fog warning include Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Jajpur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar.

In addition, light to moderate fog is likely to prevail in coastal Odisha on January 31. The Meteorological Department has advised residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the heatwave and dense fog conditions.
