Bhubaneswar: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions is likely to prevail for the next two days across 10 districts of Odisha, as per a warning released by the Regional Meteorological Centre on Monday.
Temperature above 40 degree Celsius has been reported from 14 stations in the last 24 hours with the highest 46.5 degree Celsius in Talcher. In view of this heat wave to severe heat wave warning have been issued to the adjoining districts, an official of the Meteorological Centre, Sashi Kant informed.
As per the bulletin released by Meteorological Centre, heat wave to severe heat is likely to prevail at some parts of Bhadrak, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Sonepur and Bargarh. The condition will prevail for two days and the temperature will gradually drop after it.
With regards to Fani, Sashi Kant informed that movement of the cyclonic storm has been noticed across Odisha coast but it is not moving towards the coast so presently and there is no forecast regarding its landfall. However, under its impact, most places of coastal Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall on May 2 and 3, he added.
