Heat Wave: Mercury Crosses 40 Degree In 14 Towns Of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha on Saturday continued to reel under intense heat wave conditions with 14 major towns recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

Bolangir recorded today’s highest tempreture with 44.3 degree Celsius. While Capital City Bhubaneswar sizzled with 37.8 degree Celsius.

According to the regional office of Indian Meteorological Office (IMD), maximum temperature in Titilagarh and Hirakud were 43.8 and 42.7 degree respectively.

People of Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna and Anugul also witnessed scorching heat with 43.4, 43.7 and 42.7 degree temperature respectively.

Meanwhile, Sashi Kant, Scientist, IMD predicted, “The state will continue to remain under intense heat wave conditions for next few days. However, Nor’wester rains may occur in some places of coastal Odisha.”
