Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority has issued a notification to advance the summer vacation of all private and public schools in the state in view of the intense heat wave prevailing across Odisha for the last week.
Instead of the previously scheduled May 5, summer vacation for Classes I to XII will now begin on Friday. The school reopening day will be decided later by the concerned authorities.
According to the Odisha School Education Programme Authority’s academic calendar for the year 23-24 released on April 10, the summer vacation for the government schools in Odisha for both the Elementary and Secondary Schools was scheduled to commence on May 5 and continue till June 18.
