Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here has forecast that heat waves and hot weather conditions will prevail across Odisha for the next few days. The maximum (day) temperature is likely to gradually rise further by 2°C to 3°C during the next two days in several districts of the state, it added.
As a result, the maximum (day) temperature is likely to be more than 40°C and 2°C to 5°C above the normal temperature in most places in Odisha for the next four days. The IMD has advised people to take precautionary measures while venturing outdoors during day time, especially between 11 am and 3.00 pm.
A yellow warning regarding the heat wave has been issued for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts for April 13 to 14. In addition, a heat wave warning has been issued for one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, and Balasore districts for April 14 to 15.
Heat wave conditions are also very likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Deogarh, Boudh and Kandhamal districts on April 15 and 16.
