Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts, predicting heatwave conditions on March 14 and 15.
“Heatwave condition is likely to prevail one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur” read the IMD’s mid-day bulletin prediction for March 15 and 16.
Residents of these two districts are advised to be aware and take necessary precautions.
Besides, the regional weather office has predicted thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar on March 16. These districts are under yellow alert.
As per IMD forecast for March 17, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kendrapara, Khordha, Jajpur Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore and Bhadrak. The weather office has issued yellow alert to these districts.
For March 18, the regional weather office has issued yellow warning to Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts predicting thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph).
