Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under severe heatwave conditions as several places across the State recorded 40 degrees temperatures on Tuesday afternoon.
As per the figures shared by the IMD, Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum daytime temperature among all stations at 42.6 degrees.
Capital City Bhubaneswar was close to the hottest station, recording 42.2 degrees maximum temperature till 1.30 pm today. By crossing 42 degrees, Bhubaneswar experienced the hottest day of the season.
The other towns and cities which sizzled under the heatwave were: Sambalpur (42.2); Keonjhar (41.0); Hirakud (41.0); and Chandbali (40.8).
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to have risen during the afternoon, and the evening bulletin would reveal a clear picture of how hot Tuesday afternoon was for Odisha.
