Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a scorching heatwave today, with six places across the state recording temperatures of 41°C or more. Boudh town in western Odisha was the hottest place in the state, with a temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Jharsuguda recorded a daytime temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius, while Sambalpur recorded 41.2 degrees Celsius.
Other towns in western Odisha, including Hirakud, Bolangir, and Titlagarh, each recorded a maximum temperature of 41°C on Sunday.
Sundargarh and Bhawanipatna were slightly cooler, registering maximum temperatures of 40.3°C and 40.8°C, respectively.
In the state capital, Bhubaneswar, the temperature peaked at 37.1°C, while Cuttack recorded 37.2°C.
The Meteorological Centre has predicted that no significant changes in day and night temperatures are expected over the next five days.
