Bhubaneswar: The Bhadrak district administration has declared a one-day holiday for schools in four blocks due to continuous heavy rainfall in these areas.
Due to heavy rainfall, schools in four blocks of Bhadrak district, namely Tihidi, Dhamnagar, Basudevpur, and Chandbali, are closed for the day.
The district administration made the decision to ensure student safety, as the blocks have been experiencing excessive rainfall, leading to flooding in several villages.
In Chandbali, four panchayats have been affected by floodwaters, cutting off several villages from the rest of the world. Although the water level has decreased slightly on Tuesday, hundreds of acres of agricultural land remain inundated.
It is learnt from the district administration sources that the situation is being closely monitored, and further decisions will be taken based on the weather forecast and ground conditions.
