Heavy Police Bandobast For Balasore Bypoll

Balasore: Adequate police arrangement has been made for a smooth and peaceful conduct of bypoll in Balasore Assembly constituency, informed Director General of Police Abhay here today.

“I have reviewed our preparedness for the bypoll. Adequate police arrangement has been made. And we are very confident the bypoll will conclude peacefully,” said Abhay briefing newsmen here.

As many as five Superintendent of Police, eight Deputy Superintendent of Police, 22 Inspectors, 152 Sub Inspectors, 700 other police officials, nine platoons of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), 26 platoons of Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP), 31 mobile parties and 10 sector officers will be deployed for the bypoll, informed Balasore SP Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra.

In addition to these, bootleggers and criminals are being rounded up, Mishra added.

Barricades have been erected at all entry points to Balasore town and each and every vehicle entering the town are being checked, the SP said.

Director Intelligence Radhakrishna Sharma, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) Jaswant Jethwa, Inspector General of Police Diptesh Kumar Patnaik and other senior police officials were present during the review.
