Heavy Rain Likely In 6 Odisha Dists During Next 24 Hours, IMD Issues ‘Yellow Warning’

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall in six Odisha districts while light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the interior districts of the State, south coastal Odisha and at a few places over the north coastal districts the next 24 hours.

“Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Puri during the next 24 hours,” the IMD has said in its midday weather bulletin.

The weather agency has issued ‘yellow warning’ for the aforementioned districts.

In its forecast for Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood for the next 24 hours, the IMD has said that the sky will remain generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershower.

Here’s the IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts of Odisha for the next four days.

Day 1 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangapur and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, and Khurda.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nawarangapur, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, and Gajapati.
