Bhubaneswar: Moderate thunderstorms, rain and lightning with wind speed 30-40 is very likely to occur at a few places in four in next three hours, according to the prediction of the India Meteorological Department.
According to a nowcast warning issued in this regard at 9.07 am, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Nuapada and Puri are likely to experience moderate thunderstorms and rain.
For today, the IMD has issued an orange warning for Rayagada and Gajapati districts, forecasting that heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
Besides, a yellow warning has been issued for several other districts, including Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Boudh, and Kandhamal, where heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
