Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
“The cyclonic circulation over West-central Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh coast persists and now seen at 5.8 km above mean sea level,” an IMD bulletin stated.
The districts likely to experience heavy rain are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada,
Nawarangpur, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam,Puri, Khurda.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, and Malkangiri.
Thunderstorms with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts
of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda,
Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati on July 8 and 9, the weather agency said..
