Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to batter most places in Odisha during the next four days under the influence of a well-marked low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal. The low-pressure area is likely to move west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and adjoining north Odisha during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in six Odisha districts –Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Deogarh on Tuesday. The regional centre of the IMD in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in seven districts and 11 districts on Wednesday.
August 28: Light to moderate rain/thundershowers is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha. Orange warning (Be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 cm to 20 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall (7 cm to 11 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.
