Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is very likely to occur throughout Odisha for the next 7 days due to a cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh, stated the mid-day weather bulletin of the IMD on Sunday.
The bulletin read, “The cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood now lies over the same region, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.”
Adding on the IMD bulletin stated, “The Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Damoh, Pendra Road, Balasore, and thence southeastwards to the East-central Bay of Bengal, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.”
Most places in the interior districts of the state have received light to moderate rainfall today, including a few places in the coastal region.
Meanwhile, the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, and Bargarh have received heavy rainfall in one or two places.
The highest maximum temperature of 34.7°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi, and the lowest minimum temperature of 22.3°C was recorded at Sonepur.
Weather Forecast for Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack: Generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33°C and 27°C respectively.
