Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure system is likely to form over the Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal by August 13. This weather system is expected to bring significant rainfall to various parts of Odisha, starting from Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The regional weather office has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha, including Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Koraput on Tuesday. Other districts, such as Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar, are also expected to receive heavy rainfall.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, and Gajapati on Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is possible in Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, and Nuapada. There is also a chance of rain with thunderstorms in some areas of coastal, interior, and southern Odisha. On Thursday, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in Malkangiri and Koraput.
